| Crisis Responder Pilot Evaluation | |
| The 2005 Legislature directed the Department of Social and Health Services to establish two pilot sites with secure detoxification facilities and authority to detain individuals who are considered gravely disabled or presenting a likelihood of serious harm due to mental illness, substance abuse, or both. The legislature also directed the Institute to determine if the pilots cost-effectively improve client mental health/chemical dependency evaluation, treatment, and outcomes. A preliminary report on client characteristics was published in December 2007, preliminary client outcomes were published in July 2008, and a final report is due to the legislature September 2010.
