The 2004 Washington State Legislature directed the Washington State Institute for Public Policy to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the impact and effectiveness of current sex offender sentencing policies. Because this topic is extensive, we are publishing a series of reports.

This report examines the influence of sex offender registration and community notification statutes on recidivism.
