| Basic Education Finance Joint Task Force: September 15, 2008 Report to the Joint Task Force on Basic Education Finance | |
| The 2007 Legislature created a Joint Task Force on Basic Education Finance to "review the definition of basic education and all current basic education funding formulas" (E2SSB 5627). The legislation directs the Institute to provide research support to this Task Force. For more information on the Task Force or for meeting materials, visit http://www.leg.wa.gov/jointcommittees/BEF/Pages/default.aspx. This report summarizes the four comprehensive funding options presented to the Task Force to date, including proposed timelines for phasing in new funding structures. This report also describes the methodology the Institute is developing to project impacts on student outcomes under alternative funding structures.
