| Basic Education Finance Joint Task Force: Final Report of the Joint Task Force on Basic Education Finance | |
| The 2007 Legislature created a Joint Task Force on Basic Education Finance to "review the definition of basic education and all current basic education funding formulas" (E2SSB 5627). The legislation directs the Institute to provide research support to this Task Force. For more information on the Task Force or for meeting materials, visit http://www.leg.wa.gov/jointcommittees/BEF/Pages/default.aspx. The final report includes, among others, recommended levels of funding, compensation, and staffing; enhancements for special education, struggling students, and early learning; and direction on levy equalization, data reporting, and accountability and oversight.
